Feeling As Though You're Under Fire Lately?
Hold on, you're time to shine is coming!
This is what Job said when he was under fire …
"But He knows the way that I take [He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous] Job 23:10, Amplified Version
Is this what you're telling yourself today, or do you keep asking the same question … "just when are things going to get better?" Because if you focus on the here and now, it makes it almost impossible to see the plans that God has for you in future. In fact the most part of the book of Job is him complaining but even in the midst of his complaining, he had to admit, "how forcible are right words!" Job 6:25
Job understood that his complaining wasn't going to deliver him out of his situation and so he asked God to teach him so that could hold his tongue and cause him to understand where he had gone wrong. Job 6:24. And as I highlighted in my article on Blessings and Curses, Job invited the enemy into his camp to cause carnage, without realizing it.
But what I want to focus on now, is how Job responded to the carnage. Initially, he rent his clothes and started worshiping God. But when the reality of what happended set in, he started whining and complaining. In other words,
Job didn't hold on to the promises of God long enough
And I admit, I've been guilty of this! But as a young Christian I just believed. Even when my Grandmother was murdered in our home, I kept confessing that "God would never leave or forsake me," and the truth is, He never did. I've fooled myself since that time, into believing that I was young when this happened (15 years old) so I was more resilliant. No! I just had a child like faith … I just believed without question that God would see me through.
And, I lived daily like someone who was trusting God, I talked as if I was trusting God and I saw way into the future as one who was trusting God, until I walked right through that fire and "came forth as refined gold."
I'm going to be speaking more about the power of our words in the next few blog posts, so ensure you go to the top right hand column and add your email address to be notified of automatic updates.
Keep speaking God's promises over your life and over the lives of those you love and watch the perfect will of God unfold.
