How many times have we been in situations where we’ve got in a fix and we’ve asked God to reveal to us, “what’s the problem?”
This actually is the problem …
We want God to show us how we ended up in a situation that we shouldn’t be in, why Johnny wronged us, how could Johnny be so cold toward us.
I don’t want to burst your bubble now, but you think this kind of prayer means a lot to God?
David didn’t say “search the situation oh God and tell me how to fix it …” and whilst God can and does show us how to fix the problem, it’s not in the A to Z way that we often expect. I believe David’s actual prayer is a much better way to pray and one that will inspire quicker results. David said,
“Search ME, oh God, and know my heart: try me, and know MY thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in ME, and lead ME in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139: 23-24
Wicked in this context doesn’t mean evil necessarily by the way, it means hurtful ways or thinking that doesn’t line up with God’s thinking, that will eventually lead you down the wrong path. David was saying “God, if my thoughts have caused me to be derailed from the path that you’ve designed for me, shed some light on how to get me back on track!”
David, like us, would therefore have had no time to analyse how, why and when he got into the fix and then lament before God because he did wrong. What David would have realised is that the Light of God would lead him to know the right path to take which would ultimately reveal how, why and when he got into the fix. However, his focus is on getting back on track with God and not how, why and when he became derailed. There is a difference since one will move you forward quickly and the other will keep you right where the enemy is most pleased to keep you … focusing on your circumstances.
I know I’ve written this in a previous post, but I pray it serves to add meaning and encourage someone:
GOD SAID
Don’t look to the bigness of your need
Look to the bigness of your God!
Your circumstances are hindrances to seeing
MY ABILITIES …
If you keep your eyes on your circumstances, the devil will
use your circumstances to defeat you and accuse the
Word of God … the written and Living Word.
YOUR VICTORY
is in keeping your eyes on the bigness
of your God and His ability.
HE HAS PROMISED
to take you STEP by STEP …
not all at once …
But step …
By step and …
EACH STEP WILL BE A MIRACLE!

So, if you’re in a situation right now that you don’t like, don’t keep asking God to shed light on the situation, ask God to shed light in YOU! By shedding light in your heart, the Holy Spirit will not only awaken a sleeping giant in you but He will lead you into ALL truth and get you back on track, pronto!
Now you tell me which you think is better, understanding “why oh why” you’re in a situation, or having the Holy Spirit awaken that sleeping giant in you so that the desire and will you lost to be who God called you to BE, is so aroused in you that no situation on earth could steal your joy, your focus and therefore your destiny.
Be Blessed,
